Sky

Taken at the top of St Mary's Lighthouse near Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear.  If you want to climb the 137 steps to the top, it does have some great views.

Low Light

Another picture from my Lighthouse Project, which I will be handing in tonight.  I love how the water looks on this picture but not sure if the lighthouse is a little too bright, I guess I will find out when I hand in my project.

St Mary's Lighthouse

I had to choose a subject to base my last project on in my course and chose St Mary's Lighthouse near Whitley Bay.  This is one of the pictures from numerous visits to the lighthouse.

Baltic

The picture above was taken on Newcastle's Quayside and shows the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art framed by part of the Millenium Bridge.

Abstract

Abstract photography was recently covered in a course I am doing and the picture above is one that I took for homework.  It is of the Sage on Newcastle's quayside, reflected onto the River Tyne. 

Pillars

This picture was taken at Belsay Hall, a 19th century mansion house in Belsay, Northumberland, England.  Belsay Hall is a Grade 1 listed building, owned by English Heritage.  Visitors are welcome throughout the year and the architecture and gardens make it an ideal place for photographs.

My First Post

I started this blog with a plan to try and post a picture every day, which I am aware may not even last a week but I would like to try.  I do photography as a hobby to forget my full time work and I enjoy taking pictures while out and about.  I am currently doing a couple of photography courses in my spare time and hope to post some shots taken throughout the courses.  So to start off posting a picture every day, here is my first one.  This was taken while we covered an abstract theme in one of my courses.  It was originally taken in color but I changed to black and white and much preferred it that way.
